Coach Jon Boone returns this season to high school football after a 10 year hiatus. During this time he coached little league softball for his daughters’, Jamie (Staples ’08) and Taylor (Staples ’11). He also became an avid Staples’ field hockey fan as his elder daughter Jamie was captain and two year starting goalie. For the past 5 years, Coach Boone has been active in the PAL football program. His younger daughter Taylor will also be joining the Staples football team this season as filmographer. Coach Boone coached high school football in Florida for 13 years before moving to Connecticut. He resume includes coaching as a Graduate Assistant at Louisiana State University as well as University of Miami, Florida. He was also a high school Athletic Director for 2 years in Florida. In 1999, Coach Boone moved to Westport, Connecticut with daughters and wife the former Lisa Kappus (Staples ’77, Volleyball Captain).
